In a thrust towards high-quality development, Shandong province is channeling efforts into regional coordination and collaboration. Embracing the major national strategy of the Yellow River, Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, is emerging as a hub for the transformation of old and new economic drivers.

Highlighting the significance of regional synergy, Shandong is deepening comprehensive cooperation along the Yellow River. Recent initiatives, including the collaboration with neighboring regions, emphasize a commitment to 30 new measures for mutual benefit.

Cities like Liaocheng and Tai'an are playing pivotal roles in this collaborative approach. Liaocheng, propelled by the newly operational Jinan-Zhengzhou high-speed rail, aims for closer ties with neighboring areas like Puyang, fostering a model for regional cooperation.

As the gateway to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Dezhou is aligning itself with a functional positioning, while Tai'an positions itself as a pioneer for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.

Shandong's maritime strategy is gaining momentum, focusing on the development of world-class port groups. Qingdao Port, a linchpin for Shandong's maritime ambitions, is accelerating key projects, including the Dongjiakou ore terminal.

In optimizing the regional development pattern that is oriented on one group, two centers, three circles, Shandong is ushering in a new era with approved metropolitan plans for Jinan and Qingdao during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25).

These strategic moves underscore Shandong's commitment to creating synergies, fostering collaboration, and becoming a powerhouse for integrated development.
