Shandong province is making significant strides in rural vitalization, showcasing a dynamic model of progress. In Qingzhou's Fanwang village, an organic strawberry picking garden attracts citizens, reflecting the growing engagement in rural activities.

Comprehensively advancing rural development, Shandong reported a 4.9 percent year-on-year increase in the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries, reaching 881.91 billion yuan ($124.57 billion) by the third quarter of 2023. Notably, agricultural exports surged by 6.4 percent, totaling 133.66 billion yuan during the first eleven months of the year.

The province strategically focuses on grain production, achieving three consecutive years of increased grain yield, with a current yield of 449.5 kilograms per Chinese mu, or about 0.06 hectare. The rural landscape is evolving, with grassroots Party organizations managing over 42,800 cooperatives, covering more than 40,000 administrative villages.

Shandong emphasizes a holistic approach, synchronizing five major vitalization work: industrial, talent, grassroots Party organization, ecological, and cultural. Efforts include attracting talent through innovative partnerships, fostering industrial growth, and creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere.

Ecologically, Shandong boasts achievements in environmental governance, eliminating black and odorous water bodies, reclaiming degraded farmland, and restoring millions of acres of forests.

The province actively encourages societal participation, with the Agricultural Bank of China supporting rural initiatives. Standardization drives the brand development of Shandong's agriculture, with 323 national-level and 4,295 provincial-level standardized areas.

As Shandong pioneers the convergence of urbanization and rural revitalization, the province exemplifies a balanced, innovative, and efficient model for rural progress.
