An exhibition on Yellow River civilization in Shandong province opened at the Jinan Museum in the provincial capital of Jinan on Dec 26, 2023

The Jinan Museum, which is a member of the Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance in Shandong, jointly organized the exhibition with 15 cultural and heritage protection organizations from nine cities in Shandong, including those from Jinan, Heze, Jining, Tai'an, Liaocheng, Dezhou, Binzhou, Zibo and Dongying, all of which are located along the Yellow River.

The exhibition focuses on the origin, development and spiritual core of Yellow River civilization in Shandong. It features more than 210 representative cultural relics from various places, based on the flow of the Yellow River in Shandong.

The first section uses historical maps, documents and stories about people who interacted with the Yellow River to explore its ecological and historical evolution.

The second section, exploring the origins and cultural significance of the Yellow River, showcases the rich history of the Yellow River basin in Shandong through exquisite cultural relics. It brings together numerous cultural relics from the nine cities along the Yellow River, displaying the development of civilization and the fascinating culture of those cities.

The third section focuses on revolutionary culture, intangible cultural heritage and the development of the Yellow River in the new era, highlighting the achievements of the Yellow River in Shandong in the new era.
