Tai'an held an opening ceremony for the 2024 Friendly Shandong New Year Celebration on Dec 30, 2023.

The event attracted over 200 participants, including representatives from various tourism enterprises, tourism product representatives, and internet influencers. 

The highlight of the event was a Yellow River Fair, which was divided into five major areas showcasing Tai'an's traditional New Year customs, intangible cultural heritage, winter tourism products, cultural and creative products, and Tai'an delicacies. There were also calligraphy masters from the Tai'an calligraphy team who wrote the fu character for the visitors on-site. 

Three winter tourism routes with distinctive Tai'an features and preferential policies were introduced at the event. The three routes connect scenic spots such as Mount Tai, Dai Temple, Dasong Everbright City in Dongping county, allowing visitors to experience local customs, enjoy winter activities, appreciate diverse cultures, go camping, and savor delicious rural cuisines. 

Tai'an has also launched 72 activities to create a joyful and festive atmosphere and promote winter cultural and tourism consumption. The activities include New Year celebrations, lantern festivals, temple fairs, electronic music festivals, exhibitions and sales events, ice and snow sports, cultural performances, and folk markets. 

Among them, 22 activities are in Taishan district, 12 are in Daiyue district, two are in the Mount Tai Scenic Area, five are in Tai'an Tourism Economic Development Zone, two are in Cuwen Scenic Area, seven are in Xintai city, five are in Feicheng city, six are in Ningyang county, and 11 are in Dongping county.
