A delegation led by Sun Shihui, deputy director-general of the Publicity Department of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee, visited Samarkand, Uzbekistan from Oct 12 to 13.

Both cities have a friendly cooperative relationship.

During the visit, the delegation toured Samarkand State University as well as Uz Truck and Bus Motors, and conducted a series of cultural exchange activities. The visit has boosted the cultural exchange and cooperation between Jinan and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The delegation also established the "Corner of Chinese Culture · Nishan Library" at Samarkand State University in Uzbekistan during the visit.

Samarkand is the second largest city in Uzbekistan, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, and an important hub along the Silk Road Economic Belt.
