Intl scholars call for respecting diverse civilizations

The 9th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations opened on Sept 27 in Qufu, Shandong province.

During the interview with ambassadors to China and international scholars, a sub-event of  Nishan forum, envoys from countries such as Colombia, Zimbabwe, and Greece, as well as international scholars, discussed civilizational exchanges and mutual learning in the development of a community with a shared future for mankind.

They called for respecting the diversity of world civilizations, deepening civilizational exchanges and cooperation, and promoting the development of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Jose Francisco Diaz Ulloa, the minister counselor of the Embassy of Colombia, emphasized the importance of equality, dialogue, and mutual respect in cultural exchanges and suggested strengthening cooperation between Colombia and China in various fields such as industry, agriculture, education, and tourism.

Professor Helwig Schmidt-Glintzer from the University of Tuebingen in Germany stated that the dissemination and development of Confucianism has been an important contribution by China to the development of human civilization, playing a vital role in promoting the prosperity of human civilization and friendly exchanges among various cultures.

He expressed hope that lessons from history and ancient sages should be combined with new ideas to jointly promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Dr. Muhammed Mohsen, deputy dean of the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University in Egypt, praised the achievements of ancient Egypt in various fields of science and literature. He highlighted progress made in various areas when studying the cultural heritage of ancient Egypt and expressed hope that Egypt and China, both ancient civilizations, can collaborate in various fields to promote harmonious development.
