China-Kazakhstan media dialogue held in Astana

China and Kazakhstan will further promote media cooperation to empower the cultural exchanges between the two nations, officials and experts said at a media cooperation event held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on Sept 4.
Co-hosted by China International Communications Group and Shandong Radio and TV Station, the dialogue attracted over 60 participants, including government officials, special guest and journalists from both countries.

Wang Tao, minister counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan, pointed out that China and Kazakhstan have reaped fruitful results in cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations 30 years ago, and that the media plays a vital role in promoting mutual understanding and joint cooperation on both sides.
Xi Yanchun, head of the Information Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government, said Shandong has been actively participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and has been engaged in cooperation and communication with Kazakhstan in various sectors. Xi expects the two nations to further deepen cooperation and tell better Sino-Kazakhstan stories.
During the event, Shandong Radio and TV Station, and Kazakhstan's mainstream media signed a framework agreement to establish a regular cooperation mechanism and work towards the construction of a closer China-Kazakhstan community with a shared future.
