Jinan mayor leads delegation visit Germany, Switzerland, and Hungary

Yu Haitian, mayor of Jinan, led a delegation to visit Germany, Switzerland, and Hungary from June 30 to July 9 to further strengthen friendly exchanges and deepen cultural and economic cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation held in-depth discussions with the mayors of Jinan's sister cities, city officials, representatives from chambers of commerce, corporate organizations, and heads of Chinese diplomatic institutions in the three countries.

The delegation also visited industrial parks and companies, organized industry matchmaking meetings and cooperative talks, and signed 11 cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding.

A conference focused on facilitating exchanges between Jinan and Germany in the field of intelligent manufacturing was held in Germany to attract investment and create cooperation opportunities. Discussions and exchanges were conducted with representatives from over 40 German governments, institutions and businesses such as the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Siemens, and Ernst & Young. Contracts for seven projects related to fields like intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, and dual education were signed.

In Hungary, a conference attended by the delegation and representatives from the city of Cegléd was held to promote cooperation in matters related to technology parks and the laser industry.

Yu also held discussions with the leaders of companies and institutions such as the Famous Industrial Group GmbH and Ergo, witnessed the signing of a cooperation memorandum and procurement agreement, and promoted Jinan's top 10 development advantages and dominant industries.

Jinan has in recent years been beefing up efforts to promote high-quality development, and the city is eager to continue friendly exchanges and communication with European countries such as Germany, Switzerland, and Hungary to achieve mutual benefit and win-win development, Yu said.
