Binzhou held a business promotional event during the third Conference of Great Business Partners in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on March 28.

More than 200 guests attended the event, including government officials, representatives from leading industrial companies, well-known scientific research institutions, and foreign trade associations, as well as prestigious experts and scholars.

Agreements on 38 projects from Binzhou were signed during the third Conference of Great Business Partners, which involve a combined investment of over 20 billion yuan ($2.9 billion), and will inject new vitality into the city's high-quality development, according to local officials.

"In urban development, two things are very important. One is to provide good services for enterprises and make them comfortable. The second is to work closely with colleges, universities, and research institutes to transform advantages in industries, boost scientific and technological innovation, and turn talent into real productivity serving regional development," said Song Yongxiang, Party secretary of Binzhou, in his keynote speech at the business promotional event.

Song added that Binzhou is building a bridge and platform for communication and cooperation for entrepreneurs, investors, as well as researchers, so that everyone can further their career development.

According to Song, Binzhou boasts vast development potential, obvious geographic advantages, advanced infrastructure, and sound support systems for companies to do business.

Binzhou is a leading industrial city with five industrial clusters worth over 100 billion yuan, namely the high-end aluminum, fine chemicals, intelligent textiles, food processing, animal husbandry, and aquatic products. Last year, the total revenue of the five clusters reached 1.22 trillion yuan.

The revenue of local industrial enterprises above designated size grew 11.32 percent year-on-year, reaching 995.5 billion yuan last year, ranking third in Shandong.

When the Jinan-Binzhou and the Tianjin-Binzhou high-speed railways are put into operation, it will take 55 minutes to travel from Binzhou to Beijing, 2.5 hours to Shanghai, and 27 minutes to Jinan.

Empowered by the Yellow River strategy, the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and the Bohai Economic Circle, Binzhou has become a bridgehead integrating into the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, connecting the Bohai Economic Rim and serving Northeast Asia.
