Shandong boosts strength in manufacturing, product quality

Shandong province is revving up efforts to advance new industrialization and move faster to boost its strength in manufacturing and product quality to promote regional high-quality development.
The province aims to boost its strength in quality and steadily increase the influence of Shandong brands.
The Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the Shandong Provincial People's Government have rolled out a slew of guidelines and measures and allocated 1.01 billion yuan ($148.55 million) to advance quality improvement, consolidate brand construction and a support system, and encourage manufacturing sector to move toward higher-end, smarter and greener production methods.
By the end of 2022, the provincial-level funds for replacing old growth drivers with new ones in key industries had received a total of 141.6 billion yuan in investment, and private capital investment and financing reached 373.8 billion yuan.
Shandong has cultivated a range of well-known brands across several sectors including manufacturing, tourism, culture, and food. The brand strategy has increasingly become one of the key engines for driving the province's economic growth.
It is building the "Shandong Good Products" system to promote high-quality development. In March 2022, the first batch of "Shandong Good Products" was released, covering 223 brands in 14 categories in manufacturing, consumer goods and agricultural products.
Efforts have also been made to promote the implementation of key tasks such as quality improvement and supervision at the grassroots level.
