Jinan's economy rebounds in Jan-Nov

According to the Jinan statistics bureau, the city's economy during the January-to-November period posted a rebound trend and gradually recovered despite pressure from the COVID-19 pandemic and complex global situation.

From January to November, the total volume of imports and exports reached 198.81 billion yuan ($28.49 billion), an increase of 15.7 percent. Among them, its export volume hit 127.51 billion yuan, an increase of 24.4 percent, while its import volume totaled 71.29 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8 percent.

During the first 11 months, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 1.5 percent year-on-year, and 23 industries out of 41 posted increases.

The city's fixed asset investment increased by 1 percent year-on-year during the same time period.

The consumer market was under pressure in November, with retail sales of units above designated size dropping 15.3 percent. The consumption of daily necessities showed stable growth with retail sales of food items above designated size increasing by 9.2 percent during the 11-month period.

From January to November, the city's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.4 percent.
