Themed on "Mission and Stylistic Innovation of Reportage in the New Era," the reportage forum was the first of its kind at the Nishan Forum.
He Jianming, vice chairman of China Writers Association (CWA) and director of CWA's reportage committee, and Cheng Shoutian, vice-minister of Shandong provincial publicity department and head of the Shandong provincial film bureau both delivered a speech at the forum.
He said that the reportage history of China during the previous 100 years is an essential component of the Communist Party of China's revolutionary literature. Reportage is a modern literary form that has had a significant impact on societal development. The history of reporting in China is the result of decades and generations of Chinese people working together. He also emphasized the value of China's historical reportage objectivity, fairness, and sincerity. "Today's reportage shall remain true to the previous generations' original aspirations, promote a new stylistic revolution and boost social growth," He added.
Cheng said that as the first reportage-themed forum at the Nishan Forum, it urges writers to sensitively discover new changes in life and enrich people's spiritual lives with reportage.
Writers are encouraged to propel the innovative development of China's literary tradition and pass the tradition down. Furthermore, more works that reflect the pursuit of the common values of humanity are encouraged, so that Chinese stories can be understood in the new era and contribute to the literary world.
