Yantai is in charge of a maritime area that is 12,300 square kilometers in size and has a 1,071.19-kilometer-long coastline. Many different types of seafood, such as sea cucumbers, abalones, and sea crabs, have been transported to Yantai from the sea.

Yantai also has many other tasty delicacies such as Yantai apples, Laiyang pears, sweet potatoes, juicy Yantai cherries, and white-feather broiler chickens.
Yantai apples are the most famous, and have a history of more than 150 years. They are renowned worldwide for being bright in color, sweet, attractively shaped, and crispy. Currently, Yantai apples have a brand value of more than 15 billion yuan ($2.35 billion), and have ranked number one among China's fruit brands for the past 13 years.
Yantai: City of Wine
Yantai, which has been making wine for more than a century, is situated at a northern latitude of 37 degrees, and is believed to be located at an optimal location for producing wine. The city currently produces more wine than any other region in China.

Yantai currently has nearly 100,000 mu (6,666.67 hectares) of vineyards, and an annual wine output of 120,000 metric tons. Yantai also boasts 204 wine production enterprises including Changyu Group, one of China's largest and oldest wine producers, 63 well-known chateaus, and more than 200 wine enterprises. The brand value of Yantai Wine has reached 85.2 billion yuan.
This year, Yantai launched a plan to utilize the wine industry as one of its 16 key industrial chains, and will integrate the city's wine industry resources and cultural resources to build an international wine city.
