The maglev train, which China Railway Rolling Stock Corp developed with independent intellectual property rights, will likely be the quickest mode of ground transportation in China when it begins service in a few years.

According to experts, it shows that China is capable of using high-speed maglev technologies and their engineering methods, and Ding Sansan, the project's lead engineer, said that the train can carry between two and 10 carriages, each of which can accommodate more than 100 passengers.

Ding also noted that the train offers the best option for journeys under 1,500 km because it bridges the speed difference between high-speed trains and aircrafts.

The train marked the country's latest scientific and technological achievement in the field of rail transit, according to the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation.

China's new breakthrough demonstrates that the country has mastered a complete set of high-speed maglev train engineering technologies, including system integration, vehicle production, traction power supply, rail trails, and transport control and communication, according to the company.
