The 2022 World Advanced Manufacturing Conference opened in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province on Aug 31.

The conference invited leading figures, experts and entrepreneurs in advanced manufacturing industry from home and abroad and is designed to provide a platform for further deepening cooperation in advanced manufacturing industry.

China's advanced manufacturing sector is leading the world by accelerating technological innovation and deep integration of manufacturing, Ban Ki-moon, former secretary-general of the United Nations, said in a video at the conference, adding that China has made great progress in digital industry, and artificial intelligence.

The conference will provide more opportunities for manufacturing cooperation in the context of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, according to Li Ganjie, Party secretary of Shandong.

The "2022 World Advanced Manufacturing Conference Jinan Declaration" was released at the conference and highlights the important role that advanced manufacturing has played in promoting economic reform and the consensus that has been reached by industry professionals on the future development of advanced manufacturing.

To promote high-end development of advanced manufacturing, more attention will be given to innovation-driven development, the digital economy, low-carbon development, and opening-up, according to the declaration.
