Government officials and company representatives from Shandong and South Korea attended the ceremony via both online and offline channels to push mutual cooperation to a new level.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea, as well as the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

With the active promotion of KOTRA, remarkable achievements have been made in trade and investment cooperation between Shandong and South Korea, said Li Ganjie, Shandong Party chief during his online discussion with Yu Jeoung Yeol, president and CEO of KOTRA.

Li expressed hope that the two sides will make new breakthroughs in expanding trade cooperation, promoting integrated industrial development and continuously enlarging the advantages of customs clearances.

Li noted that Shandong will continue to build a market-oriented, law-based and international business environment and provide first-class services for the development of all enterprises, including those from South Korea.

The Shandong provincial government signed a memorandum of cooperation with KOTRA during the ceremony.

Yu said that KOTRA will take this as an opportunity to further strengthen reciprocal trade and investment, deepen bilateral cooperation in medical care and health care, culture and arts, and help regional economic development.

A total of 15 cooperation projects were signed during the ceremony.
