The "2022 Dialogue with Shandong - South Korea · Shandong Industrial Cooperation and Exchange", and the "2022 Dialogue with Shandong – China-Japan Healthcare Industry Cooperation and Exchange" will be held in Jinan on Aug 17 and 24, respectively.

The "Dialogue with Shandong" serial events have become an important platform to promote industrial cooperation and exchanges with South Korea, Japan, Germany and other countries and regions, igniting Shandong's high-quality development.

As a sunrise industry with a focus on medical treatment, elderly care, traditional Chinese medicine, tourism, sports and other forms of business, the healthcare industry has become a pillar industry of the national economy and an important engine for high-quality economic development.

Shandong has an elderly population of more than 20 million, which accounted for over 20 percent of the provincial total population. The aging rate in the province is 2.2 percentage points higher than the national average.

In the healthcare industry, Japan has a first-mover advantage. According to Shandong officials, improving mutual cooperation in the industry is both a useful practical move to better people's livelihoods and a concrete step to completely implement the "Healthy China" strategy.

Shandong expects to continue to promote cooperation with Japan in the fields of elderly care, nursing operations, elderly care personnel training, and healthcare product manufacturing.

It plans to follow up with the implementation of key cooperation projects and create a new model of industrial cooperation with Japan.
