Dongying's GDP rises 3.6% in H1

Dongying in East China's Shandong province saw its gross domestic product grow 3.6 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2022, hitting 174.15 billion yuan ($25.75 billion), according to official statistics.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary and tertiary industries totaled 7.81 billion yuan, 104.74 billion yuan, and 61.61 billion yuan in the first six months, respectively, up by 6.6 percent, 4.4 percent, and 1.9 percent.

In the first half of this year, the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery in Dongying increased by 6.8 percent year-on-year, ranking first in the province. The added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 8 percent, ranking sixth in Shandong.

From January to May, the operating income of service enterprises increased by 23.3 percent, ranking fifth in the province. In the first half of this year, investment in fixed assets increased by 12.1 percent, ranking seventh in the province.

The consumer market recovery accelerated in Dongying, with total retail sales of consumer goods increasing by 2.6 percent in the first half of 2022, ranking second in the province.

During this period, the city's foreign trade value totaled 125.89 billion yuan, up 25 percent year-on-year.

In the first half of this year, there were 309,000 market entities in Dongying, up 6.8 percent.
