The second Japan (Shandong) Imported Commodities Expo will be held from July 15 to 18 in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province. The expo will display a wide range of Japanese products covering sectors such as healthcare, intelligent home appliances, animation, cosmetics, food and beverage, and handicrafts.

The expo will set up five exhibition areas for smart life, healthcare, fashion, cultural creativity, and trade service. More than 220 Japanese companies will participate in the expo including Sumitomo Group, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mizuho Bank, Omron Healthcare, and Laox.

Hosted by the Jinan municipal government and the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, the event is designed to promote exchanges between Jinan and Japan, and further expand economic and trade cooperation between Shandong province and East Asian countries.

Officials said that the first Japan (Shandong) Imported Commodities Expo, held in Jinan last year, was widely praised by exhibitors, purchasers and local residents. It attracted more than 86,000 viewers, and achieved an onsite turnover totaling 22.09 million yuan ($3.28 million) and an intended transaction volume of 700 million yuan.
