Jining marks annual Cultural and Natural Heritage Day

The Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and Confucius Museum in Jining, Shandong province, held a series of activities on June 11 to honor Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which included the launch of the 1st "Confucian Culture" Creative Design Competition, the unveiling of a school of li (etiquette) and yue (music), and a live-streamed "slow travel" to Confucian sites.

With the theme "Culture is our way of life", the 1st "Confucian Culture" Creative Design Competition consists of four events that focus on visual designs, creative cultural product designs, digital product designs, and creative paintings, and all of which must revolve around Confucian culture.

The competition is open to designers from around the world to sign up from June to December on its official website, or the official websites of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and Confucius Museum.

The Confucius Museum's school of li (etiquette) and yue (music) was established on June 11.

The school is committed to the research, teaching and promotion of the traditional Chinese culture of li (etiquette) and yue (music) by conducting academic studies and hosting performances, forums, lectures and training sessions.

On June 11, dozens of online outlets, including yangshipin.cn, xinhuanet.com, Kuaishou, Douyin, and Bilibili, livestreamed a "slow tour" to the Confucius Museum and the Confucius Temple. 

The audience was able to appreciate ancient manuscripts and seals, learn about Confucius' anecdotes, and get a close look at the process of cultural relic preservation through the livestream. The event was viewed more than 8.12 million times.
