Shandong University's College of International Education (CIE) held an online Chinese learning exchange meeting for South Korean students who joined in the "Chinese Bridge" project on May 3.

Attendees carried out discussions on a variety of aspects including curriculum, teaching styles, and individual achievements.

Lim Sangtaek, professor of archaeology at Pusan National University, said that the Chinese teachers made accurate and timely corrections during online lessons and he is expecting to attend more language and culture learning activities. Lee Juwon, a student planning to pursue his degree at a Chinese university, said that the HSKK (HSK Speaking Test)-oriented courses helped him improve his Chinese speaking abilities, and he intends to take the latest HSKK test.

Wang Yanwei, deputy dean of CIE, said that as Shandong province plays a key role in regional economic cooperation among China, Japan, and South Korea, the college is responsible for boosting more regional cooperation in various fields based on language and culture exchanges.

This online meeting is expected to build a solid platform for attracting more South Koreans to study in China and promote enterprises of both countries to develop locally in each other's countries.

The "Chinese Bridge" South Korean youth online exchange meeting was initiated by SDU's CIE, Dongseo University, and local education institutions in Busan, South Korea, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea.
