The cultural industry of Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, has grown rapidly in recent years, thanks to continued support from the local government.

The city's cultural and tourism clusters can receive a subsidy of up to 1 million yuan ($147,200) under the measures to strengthen the cultural sector, which were announced in 2020.

In 2021, Jinan had 42,000 cultural enterprises, including 98 with an annual operating revenue of more than 100 million yuan and seven with an annual operating revenue of more than 1 billion yuan.

The industrial parks offer a diverse range of cultural consumption options. With its strong business environment and services, the Jinan International Innovation Design Industrial Park has attracted more than 300 cultural innovation enterprises.

The booming development of emerging cultural entities also contributed to the city's development of the cultural sector. For example, as China's "internet + printing" industry leader, Shiji Kaiyuan Zhiyin Internet Technology Group has formed a complete intelligent printing service network based on its own factories and supply chain cooperation system, serving more than 36 million users.

Beike, a short-video company, has launched a series of online activities including livestreaming sales and a historical figure image design contest, promoting the development of advertising and other cultural and creative industries.

In addition, Jinan's opening and high-quality business environment make market players more active, which promotes the vigorous development of cultural industry.
