Shandong will continue to promote standardized development in its pursuit of high-quality development and modernization, local officials said at a news conference on May 11.

More national standard innovation platforms will be constructed. It will undertake advanced technology and forward-thinking technology field standard breakthrough projects, as well as work to establish additional national technology standard innovation bases, national standard verification points, and national quality standard laboratories.

Standard innovation platforms will be established at the provincial level. Shandong will begin construction of the first batch of provincial innovation centers for technical standards to alleviate the province's weaknesses in the creation and application of advanced standards.

The provincial innovation platforms will work closely with enterprise technology centers, and formulate technical standards for the promotion of new technologies, products, forms of business and models in a timely manner.

Measures will be launched to support international and domestic R&D institutions to set up standard workstations in enterprises in Shandong, and promote the pilot test completion and standard verification of frontier application research projects.

The province will set up a service platform for international and national technical standards organizations to operate in Shandong to help Shandong enterprises to participate in international and national standardization activities smoothly.
