Jinan promotes high-quality development in Yellow River Basin

Print PrintJinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, has been striving to promote the ecological conservation and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin since China placed it as a major national strategy in 2021.
In 2021, the city's GDP reached 1.14 trillion yuan ($172.5 billion) with an average two-year growth of 6 percent. Its comprehensive strength ranked 18th in China's top 20 city list.
The Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation, which was approved by the Stated Council on April 25, 2021, is designed to develop into a demonstration zone for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.
The region is focusing on developing emerging industries such as new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, and new materials. Over one year's development, 67 key project started construction with an investment of 89.7 billion yuan.
To optimize the business environment and give full play to the agglomeration effect of advantageous industries, the region is accelerating the construction of industrial parks.
Everbright Lighting Smart Industrial Park has also been put into use, providing security monitoring, traffic signals, smart lighting, and environmental monitoring services in the area. Seventeen advanced manufacturing enterprises have settled in Jinan International Standard Investment Industrial Park, covering the fields of aerospace, energy equipment, intelligent manufacturing, industrial robots, and new materials.
Moreover, Jinan is building a model city for ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin. The city is speeding up the restoration of its ecosystem to promote the upgrading and improvement of the environment along the river.
