The Yantai-Middle East International Trade and Procurement Conference of Shandong Week kicked off at the Expo 2020 Dubai via online channels on March 23.

The event, held by the Yantai People's Government and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shandong Sub-council, offers an innovative platform for foreign trade enterprises to make full use of advanced technologies to showcase their latest products and engage in the global market despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 40 Yantai foreign trade enterprises signed up to take part in the online event, and their exhibited products include construction and building materials, mechanical equipment, hardware mechanical and electrical products, food and agricultural products, and new-energy equipment.

The online event will last for three months until late June, and online negotiation and matchmaking activities will also be held at the same time to attract potential buyers.

China and Middle Eastern countries and regions are crucial partners in promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and the two sides have significant economic and trade potential. Yantai, as well as countries and regions in the Middle East, are likely to benefit greatly from the online event. It will also assist Yantai businesses in expanding their worldwide markets and forming more Middle Eastern cooperative partners.
