Weifang sees 9.7% GDP growth in 2021

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Weifang, Shandong province reached 701.06 billion yuan ($110.28 billion) in 2021, a year-on-year growth of 9.7 percent and a two-year average growth of 6.6 percent, according to official statistics.

In 2021, the added value of the primary industry in Weifang was 62.84 billion yuan, up 7.6 percent year-on-year; the added value of the secondary industry was 283.14 billion yuan, up 10 percent; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 355.09 billion yuan, up 9.8 percent.

Steady recovery was seen in industrial production. The added value of the city's industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 12.5 percent year-on-year, with an average growth of 10.4 percent over the past two years.

The service sector is gaining momentum. In 2021, the city's service enterprises above designated size achieved revenue of 41.81 billion yuan, up 23.2 percent year-on-year, with a total profit of 8.02 billion yuan, up 78.8 percent.

The consumer market remains robust. The city's total retail sales of consumer goods reached 278.15 billion yuan in 2021, up 16.4 percent year-on-year, with an average growth of 7.9 percent over the past two years.

The city's fixed asset investment increased by 16 percent year-on-year, with an average growth of 10.1 percent over the past two years. Investment in high-tech industries increased by 37.4 percent.

The per capita disposable income of all residents was 37,103 yuan, up 9.4 percent year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 46,616 yuan, up 8.2 percent, while the figure of rural residents was 24,007 yuan, up 10.9 percent.

The city's imports and exports totaled 265.7 billion yuan, up 39.4 percent year-on-year.
