Golsanami has now been living in Qingdao for more than seven years. He says he has fallen in love with the country and has been honored as the "ambassador of friendship for the people of Shandong" for his contribution to the friendly exchanges between China and Iran.

Golsanami said that Shandong University of Science and Technology attaches great importance to the education and training of students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. As a result, he has recommended that more Iranian students study and take part in exchanges at the university.

Majoring in mining rock mechanics and engineering, Golsanami has published nearly 40 high-level academic papers. From 2019 to 2021, he proposed three unconventional oil and gas reservoir analysis methods that reached the international advanced level, as well as provided relevant technical support for the national energy industry.

Cooperation in the mineral industry accounts for a large proportion of economic and trade exchanges between China and Iran. Golsanami recommended that Chinese private companies provide mining and oil and gas services to the National Iranian Oil Company, making positive contributions to the development of China's energy industry.

Before coming to China, Golsanami spoke three languages: Turkish, Farsi, and English.

"Although my PhD is taught in English and I can communicate in English, from the moment I set foot in China, I made up my mind to learn Chinese so that I could better understand Chinese culture," Golsanami said.

"After studying and working in China, I have gained a lot. In terms of research, I can learn a lot of cutting-edge knowledge that I could not learn before in China, and I have made rapid academic progress. In life, I have benefited greatly from the experience of China's 5,000-year civilization," Golsanami said.

In the future, Golsanami hopes to stay at Shandong University of Science and Technology to conduct scientific research and to make his own contributions to the friendship between China and Iran.
