The province of Shandong has implemented more measures to protect patent rights and encourage innovation.

The province has revised its original patent award measures, highlighting the protection of intellectual property rights, optimizing award setting, expanding the scope of application and raising award standards.

First, second and third-place prizes will be doubled to 200,000 yuan ($31,240), 100,000 yuan and 50,000 yuan, respectively, while the special award has been raised to 500,000 yuan.

The Shandong Outstanding Inventor Award was also introduced, with an amount of 20,000 yuan.

The projects that won the China patent gold award, silver award and excellence award will be awarded 500,000 yuan, 200,000 yuan and 100,000 yuan, respectively.
