The four-day Jinan Japan Import Commodities Expo concluded in Jinan, Shandong province on Sept 15.

According to data from the Jinan commerce bureau, the exhibition received more than 86,000 visitors.

A total of 9,057 professional purchasers from 121 enterprises attended the exhibition and 181 trade contracts worth 22.09 million yuan ($3.43 million) were signed at the exhibition site.

A total of 357 cooperation intentions worth about 700 million yuan were reached.

The expo displayed a wide range of imported products from Japan and had five exhibition areas themed on smart life, healthcare, fashion life, cultural creativity, and service trade.

More than 150 renowned Japanese companies, including Sumitomo Group, Mitsubishi Bank, and Laox, exhibited thier products at the expo.

Japan is Jinan's fourth largest foreign trade partner. Imports and exports between Japan and Jinan reached 6.8 billion yuan last year, up 22.8 percent year-on-year compared with 2019.

In the first half of this year, the figure continued to grow, with the value of the city's imports and exports to Japan totaling 3.9 billion yuan, up more than 10 percent year-on-year.
