Shandong province will further improve its business environment for foreign investment, implementing policies like reducing the number of off-limit sectors for foreign investors, providing integrated government services, as well as creating a fair and transparent legal environment, said local officials.

In recent years, Shandong has been working to build its digital government services. Efforts have been made to set up a sound coordination mechanism for sharing government data, as well as to promote mutual nationwide recognition of electronic licenses and certificates, with the goal of making more government services accessible online and on cellphone applications with the need for only one application process.

Measures have been implemented to deepen reforms to streamline administration and delegate power, improve regulation, as well as upgrade services to create a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment.

According to local officials, the business environment in Shandong continues to improve, ranking among the top in the country in terms of overall level of business environment construction.

According to the 2020 assessment of China's business environment released by the National Development and Reform Commission, four of the five participating cities in Shandong were selected as demonstration cities. In addition, Jinan and Qingdao were among the cities with the biggest improvement in business environment.
