Shandong, which has been deeply focused on cultural exchange, has hosted a series of cultural and trade exchange activities to deepen relations with South Korea, said Wang Xinfu, vice-governor of Shandong.
Today, South Korea has become the second largest source of foreign investment, the fourth largest trading partner and the largest source of foreign tourists for Shandong.
Wang hopes that the week-long event can help further expand pragmatic cooperation between the two sides across various fields.
Officials said that more than 4,500 South Korea-funded companies have invested in Shandong, creating job opportunities and greatly contributing to the province's economic development.
The exchange week event focuses on two parts – cultural exchanges in Jinan and economic and trade exchanges in Qingdao. A modern art exhibition, a tourism photography exhibition, and a cultural lecture will also be held during the week.
