Linyi, Shandong province has been ramping up efforts to improve its business environment and offer better services to support the development of local enterprises, said local authorities.

The city has set up support teams and government officials have been assigned to oversee key projects and ensure that any difficulties in the construction process can be solved in an efficient manner.

In addition, government officials have been tasked to establish one-on-one contact with local companies to support their upgrading and development.

A hotline for entrepreneurs has been set up at the 12345 service center to cater to requests from enterprises and entrepreneurs.

At the beginning of this year, Linyi set Sept 26 as "Entrepreneurs' Day" to pay tribute to entrepreneurs in the city.

"The city's series of measures has given us great encouragement," said Zhang Guimin, president of Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, a Linyi-based integrated pharmaceutical company.

"I'm impressed by the city's sound business environment and efficient work efficiency," said Dong Mingzhu, chairwoman of Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances.

The intelligent manufacturing production base of Gree in Linyi, which represents an investment of 3 billion yuan ($469.2 million), is the home appliance giant's only project in Shandong province.

The annual sales revenue of the project is expected to reach between 6 billion yuan and 10 billion yuan. More than 4,000 jobs will be created when it is put into operation.

Last year, Linyi added 260,000 new market entities, while the total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size exceeded 491.4 billion yuan, an increase of 8.6 percent year-on-year.
