Weifang advances intl exchanges during annual kite festival

Thomas Østrup Møller, ambassador of Denmark to China, Sarah Serem, ambassador of Kenya to China, and Igawahara Masaru, consul-general of the Japanese consulate in Qingdao, attended the event.
The annual kite festival is an important event in Weifang, the birthplace of kites, as it promotes the city's kite culture, boosts tourism, and helps facilitate cooperation in various fields.

This year, the kite festival opened on April 17 and will run until May 5. It consists of a dazzling array of activities, including business promotions, sports competitions, cultural exchanges, performances, and art exhibitions.
The foreign guests attended the opening ceremony of the kite festival and watched the World Kite Championships. They also visited the Weifang National Open and Development Comprehensive Pilot Zone, electro-acoustic components manufacturer Goertek, and the 22nd China (Shouguang) International Vegetable Sci-Tech Fair.

The ambassadors of Denmark and Kenya to China said that the trip to Weifang left them with a positive impression. They spoke highly of the achievements made in the city's economic and social development, as well as the city's infrastructure, business environment, and openness.
They also expressed hope to further strengthen cooperation with the Weifang government and enterprises in modern agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and cultural exchanges, as well as to establish long-term and stable cooperative relations in more fields.
