Yantai to improve living environment for expats

Print PrintYantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, will continue improving the living environment for expats, officials said at a news conference hosted by the Yantai municipal government on March 31.
The city will establish more international schools to improve education environment for foreign children and offer Chinese language learning courses at these schools. It will also optimize medical services for foreigners by introducing medical and commercial insurance institutions and promoting international exchange in medicine.
In addition, new electronic bus stops will be established with bilingual signs to for foreigners. More efforts will also be made to encourage renowned law offices to set up branches in Yantai and encourage qualified law firms to set up foreign-related legal service teams. International communities are expected to be formed.
Yantai has also opened multilingual service lines for foreigners. In 2019, the city launched its first 24-hour multilingual service line at 0535-6781-999, which offers Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean services. It will offer information consultation, emergency translation, tourism promotion, and other public services for foreigners.
