The construction plan for Jinan Metro Line 6 has been issued, according to the Jinan municipal natural resources and planning bureau.

The line has a planned length of 40 kilometers and will pass through the main urban area of the city from east to west, which includes Huaiyin, Shizhong, Tianqiao, Lixia, and Licheng districts.

It will connect Jinan West Railway Station, Jinan Railway Station, and Jinan East Railway Station, and is expected to accelerate the development of the city's eastern and western regions.

In addition, the second phase of Line 3 and the first phase of Lines 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will finish construction from 2020 to 2025. The metro lines will be a combined 159.6 kilometers in length and cost 115.44 billion yuan ($17.86 billion).

Jinan has made significant progress in improving its metro network in recent years.

Lines 1 and 3 have been completed and put into operation, while Line 2 began trial operations on Dec 29, 2020.
