Jinan shares service industry goals for 14th Five-Year Plan

Print PrintBy 2025, Jinan's service industry will have made significant progress in improving its industrial structure, cultivating new growth drivers, and strengthening its brand influence.
The Jinan government discussed the city's development achievements during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) and its goals for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).
The added value of the city's service industry in 2019 was 583.51 billion yuan ($88.86 billion), up 67.3 percent from 2015, while the value-added of the service industry accounted for 61.8 percent of GDP in 2019, 4.6 percentage points higher than in 2015.
In addition, market entities expanded rapidly. In 2019, the number of service entities above designated size reached 1,524, 606 more than in 2015. The operating revenue of service enterprises above designated size was 217.94 billion yuan, an increase of 192.9 percent over 2015.
The policy system for the service sector has also been gradually improved. Since 2016, a total of 121 policies related to the service sector have been issued, providing strong support for the rapid development of Jinan's service industry.
Over the next five years, the city plans to promote technological innovation and develop into a national software city.
Jinan will also work to develop its cultural tourism, and high-end services related to education, household service, and healthcare will be improved.
In addition, the local government will work to develop some emerging service industries with high-end technology and high added-value.
