Kenli district of Dongying, Shandong province held a business promotional event in Shenzhen, Guangdong province on Nov 13.

Nine industry association leaders and entrepreneurs were appointed as investment ambassadors at the event to help enterprises on both sides share investment and trade information and seek out cooperation opportunities.

Agreements for eight projects with a total investment of 3.36 billion yuan ($512.4 million) were signed at the event. These projects cover fields including new materials, intelligent manufacturing, modern agriculture, medical and health care.

Zhang Xiaohui, deputy director of Dongying investment promotion bureau, said that Kenli district, as the key development center of Dongying, is at forefront of implementing the national strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin.

"Kenli, with its favorable conditions, has become an investment hotspot," said Zhang, adding that Dongying and Shenzhen have a good foundation for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation, while economies of the two places are highly complementary and have great potential for cooperation.

Officials from Kenli also gave detailed introductions of the district's social and economic development, business environment, industrial development, investment and talent policies.

Kenli will continue to learn the advanced development practices and concepts of Shenzhen, create a more favorable environment for business, innovation and entrepreneurship and facilitate more cooperation and investment, said local officials.
