Jinan's Lixia district attracted 17 projects during the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, which was held from Nov 5-10, according to local media reports.
The project agreements cover a wide range of fields, including high-end modern services, industrial finance and tourism, and were signed with companies including Ernst & Young – a global business services firm, Publicis Groupe and Shanghai Allcheer Intelligent Technology Co.
The expo provided an opportunity for the district to attract more investment and deepen cooperation with the world's top 500 enterprises in the fields of accounting, consultancy and financial investment.

One of the 10 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Jinan, Lixia enjoys great business potential due to its regional advantages and high-end industrial clusters.
Lixia is home to the city's Central Business District, which has introduced more than 500 elite headquarters enterprises. Among these companies are 12 of the world's top 500 enterprises and more than 330 financial institutions.
In 2019, the district built 791 5G base stations, laying a solid foundation for applying new-generation communications technologies.
A regional visa center was launched in Lixia in 2019, which can handle visa applications from 100 countries, benefiting nearly 300 million people in Shandong and neighboring provinces.
The Mixc, the largest commercial complex in Jinan, started operations in the district in 2019, and officials say it is expected to boost local consumption.
Lixia's government has rolled out a series of preferential policies to attract more investment, including financial rewards. For example, newly-introduced headquarters enterprises can claim up to 30 million yuan ($4.53 million).
More efforts will be made to help Lixia developed into a first-class international urban area.
