The USA session of the "Connecting Shandong with the Fortune Global 500" series will be held both online and offline on Sept 29 in Jinan, Shandong province.

This will be the third event in the series, which is organized by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Shandong Provincial People's Government in an effort to deepen cooperation between Shandong and multinational companies.

The main venue for the event is located in Jinan, and there will also be sub-venues in all 16 cities in Shandong province.

According to the organizers, leaders of the American Fortune 500 and other well-known multinational companies, business associations, and consulting agencies will deliver speeches and participate in dialogues at the event.

According to official statistics, Shandong is home to 785 projects from 219 Fortune Global 500 companies. Among them, 82 are invested by the US-based Global 500 companies.

Renowned US brands such as General Motors, HP, Cisco, Caterpillar, Tyson Foods and Air Products and Chemicals have all opened branches in Shandong province.

From January to August this year, the trade value between Shandong and the United States reached 131.54 billion yuan ($19.28 billion), up 1.9 percent year on year. The province's actual use of foreign investment from the US reached $206 million, up 24.79 percent year on year.
