Yantai promotes technological cooperation with Japan and South Korea

The 2020 China-Japan-South Korea Conference of Engineering and Technology (CJKCET) opened in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, on Sept 16.

The event, which took place online and offline, was aimed at facilitating industrial technological innovation and promoting international cooperation in high-end engineering talent cultivation among the three sides.

More than 100 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from the three countries discussed pressing issues in the smart manufacturing, new generation information technology and fine chemical industries.

Chen Fei, mayor of Yantai, said at the conference that Yantai has great potential for collaboration opportunities with Japan and South Korea.

According to Chen, Yantai will leverage the Sino-South Korea (Yantai) Industrial Park, Sino-Japan (Yantai) Industrial Park and the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Yantai Area to promote mutual cooperation and a plan for the construction of a pilot zone for China-Japan-ROK cooperation.

Relying on its advanced manufacturing and technological innovation capabilities, the city will also further strengthen industrial cooperation as well as economic, trade and cultural exchange with the two countries.
