Qingdao builds health industry center

The eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province has started building a health industry center in Shibei district, which will integrate the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries with big data and high-end technology.

The big health center, with a planned area of 733,333 square meters, will be run by Qingdao Baheal Pharmaceutical Group to stimulate the development of Qingdao's old industrial area and foster new economic growth drivers.

Baheal will also build a health industrial park in the center, which will cover an area of 255,333 square meters and cost a total of 15 billion yuan ($2.14 billion). The park is meant to promote cooperation in the health sector.

The industrial park is expected to be completed and begin operating in 2025. It aims to attract over 1,500 companies over five years, generate an annual output of 120 billion yuan and create more than 20,000 jobs.

The Baheal International Heal Cooperation Hub for Cities, one core area of the center, began construction on July 11. It has a total construction area of over 46,000 square meters and will offer industrial display and trading services, innovation incubation services, and offices.

It will also provide industrial development carriers and supporting services for enterprises and strive to become a gateway to the Chinese market for domestic and foreign health enterprises.
