China's domestically developed Beidou Navigation Satellite System has been widely used in many public sectors and business fields in Jinan, Shandong province.

Shandong Zhengyuan Geophysical Information Technology Company is a professional information technology firm dedicated to pipeline detection, maintenance, operation, and development, as well as the utilization of underground space.

The company leads China in the development of digital management solutions for preventing accidents related to urban manhole covers using the Beidou Navigation Satellite System.

The intelligent manhole cover system is being used throughout Jinan, and more than 300 smart manhole covers are currently operating in Lixia district.

The manhole covers were fitted with detection and positioning devices. If the cover is moved or stolen, an alarm will sound automatically, greatly improving the efficiency of urban manhole cover management and reducing accidents.

The unmanned electric truck developed by Sinotruk and equipped with laser radars, high-definition cameras, and the Beidou Satellite Navigation System can drive safely even in the most adverse of conditions such as foggy and rainy weather.

The intelligent vehicle was put into service at Tianjin port for the first time on Jan 17.

The vehicle makes use of cutting-edge innovative technology such as artificial intelligence, internet of vehicles, cloud computing and new energy resources.

It takes less than one hour to fully charge the vehicle, which can travel up to 120 kilometers per hour.

A Beidou innovation center supported by the Shandong Research Institute of Industrial Technology is currently engaged in technological R&D and is promoting the application of the Beidou system.

A Beidou real-time location service system developed by the center was launched during the epidemic.

The system notifies Shouguang's vegetable carrying vehicles when they enter high-risk areas, helping prevent the spread of the virus.
