East China's Shandong province will reopen its scenic spots, hotels, restaurants, cinemas, museums, and more in regions with a lower risk of infection, local authorities said.

The Shandong Provincial People's Government has issued guidelines on developing cultural and tourism sectors as the novel coronavirus becomes a lower threat in the province.

Cultural and tourism enterprises and service-oriented businesses will be allowed to gradually reopen according to their security-risk level and business category.

The Shandong Provincial Government has also urged scenic areas, hotels, museums, cinemas, and more to adopt stringent epidemic-control measures when resuming operations.

It has urged tourism and cultural spots to open online ticketing channels, adopt electronic payment systems, implement crowd control measures, and more to avoid the spread of infection. All workers are required to wear protective gear, and all visitors must have their temperatures taken before entering.

Shandong will also encourage scenic spots, museums, art galleries, and more to extend their evening hours to fuel the nighttime economy.

In addition, development funds will be allocated to help hard-hit enterprises, upgrade cultural facilities, and introduce more cultural and tourism construction projects.
