$1.05b in foreign-invested projects to come to Zibo

Six deals for foreign-invested projects worth a total of $1.05 billion to be carried out in Zibo were signed on Feb 25 during an online signing meeting in Jinan, capital of Shandong province.

A total of 66 deals for projects to be carried out in Shandong province were signed on the online platform. The projects are expected to attract $4.27 billion in contractual foreign capital.

Jiang Duntao, Party secretary of Zibo, said that the newly-signed projects involved cultural creativity, marine economy, healthcare, environmental protection, and more.

The Vanke cloud city project, with an investment of $850 million, will be carried out in Zibo's Zhangdian district. It will lead to the development of a community with diverse types of businesses and headquarters, science and innovation parks, commercial zones, recreational and fitness areas, and residential quarters. 

A biotechnology industrial park will be built in the Zibo National New and Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and receive $100 million in investment. The park will engage in the research and development, production, and sales of high-end marine biological products and natural health food.

A sewage treatment plant expansion project to be carried out in the Zibo Economic Development Zone will receive a total of $30 million in investment from China Everbright Water Ltd. It is expected to treat 20,000 cubic meters of sewage per day.

A medical disinfectant wipes project, receiving investment from Shandong Shinva Medical Instrument Co and Saraya Co in Japan, will also be built in the Zibo Economic Development Zone and receive $10 million in investment. It is expected to produce 180 million medical disinfectant wipes per year. 

Local authorities said that the projects are meant to inject new vitality into the city's development and contribute to its efforts to replace old growth drivers with new ones.

The city will continue to promote investment and international cooperation and work to create a better business environment for investors, local authorities said.
