The government of Jining in East China's Shandong province recently signed 13 industrial project deals by video conference amid the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak.

The projects involved various fields, including the new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, energy and new materials, and will receive a total of more than 9 billion yuan ($1.29 billion) in investment.

Shuanglin Group, headquartered in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, will spend 1 billion yuan to build an automatic transmission manufacturing center in Jining National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The center is expected to produce 300,000 automatic transmissions annually after it reaches full capacity.

According to local authorities, the existing Jining branch of the group produces 50,000 M05 and 50,000 M23 transmissions annually, as well as 100,000 M06 and 100,000 M08 transmissions, with annual sales revenue reaching 2.8 billion yuan.

"The new project will expand the group's industrial chain in Jining, with the introduction of new technology, materials and equipment," said Li Zhuang, an official at the high-tech zone.

Another project was a manufacturing and R&D center for mobile intelligent firefighting equipment funded by Shanghai Yanfeng Automotive Technology Co with 500 million yuan. The center will produce 100,000 mobile intelligent firefighting equipment annually, bringing in 1 billion yuan.

Officials said the government will make full use of advanced information technology to handle administrative affairs and attract investment online, aiming to ensure stable economic development during the battle against the epidemic.
