TCM conference draws 1,000 professionals to Shandong province

The Sixth Traditional Chinese Medicine Science Conference, which concluded on Sunday in Jinan, East China's Shandong province, attracted scientists and doctors from home and abroad to discuss a wide range of TCM topics, including medical discoveries, the integration of national strategies with TCM and international cooperation and exchanges in the field of TCM.
More than 1,000 participants joined the two-day conference in the province's capital city.

The vitality of TCM depends on developing TCM with modern scientific technologies. TCM and Western medicine should develop together and complement each other to better serve human health, Chen Zhu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, and also chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, said during the opening ceremony held on Saturday.
During the conference, Shandong provincial government and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine signed an agreement to jointly develop Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The conference was sponsored by the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
