China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co, also known as Sinotruk, currently has a more than 60 percent market share in the Philippines, and the figure is growing.

The country has become the company's largest export market in Southeast Asia.

This is mainly due to efforts made by the company's Philippines office – a team that consists of nine members with an average age under 30.

"I feel proud when I see our products being used on the streets of the Philippines," said one employee.

The company has encountered many difficulties operating in a foreign land. For example, employees spent an average of two hours every day traveling to meet clients due to heavy traffic congestion in the capital city of Manila.

However, this problem was solved when the resourceful young men working in the overseas office relocated it closer to the clients.

Sometimes employees have to travel across war zones to visit clients or provide after-sale services.

"We never travel alone, so it is relatively safe," said Meng Shuai.

"We will take any opportunity to expand our market. This has become an unwritten rule in the Philippines office," he added.
