The 2019 Qingdao Forum on International Standardization (QFS) will be held from Oct 27 to 29 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province.

A news conference was hosted recently by the information office of the Qingdao municipal government to introduce the arrangements and schedule of the event.

Under the guidance of the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Shandong provincial government, the three-day event will be jointly organized by the Qingdao administration for market regulation and the administration of Qingdao Oceantec Valley.

Themed around "international standards and the fourth industrial revolution," the event includes one theme forum, five sub-forums, one national standardization conference, as well as a meeting for investment and talent attraction.

It is estimated that more than 600 distinguished guests from home and abroad will attend the event, including top officials from international standardization organizations, academicians, and government officials.

QFS is designed as a high-end platform for dialogue on international standardization, generating opportunities for cooperation among international, regional, and national standardization organizations, as well as promoting the development of standardization.

The event is expected to provide technical support for the development of the Qingdao area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and Belt and Road international cooperation, officials said.
