Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, will host an international spring water festival from Sept 6 to 11, looking to promote its signature artesian springs to the world.

The city is home to numerous natural springs and weeping willows, which give the city a distinct feel.

The festival will feature a wide range of activities designed to showcase Jinan's springs, including a festooned vehicle parade, spring music and water-sprinkling festivals, and a ceremony paying tribute to the springs.

This year's event will also invite more than 20 foreign journalists to visit the city's renowned scenic spots, including Baotu Spring, Daming Lake and Baihuazhou Historic Block.

The fourth International Alliance of Cities with Spring Cultural Landscapes will also be held, focusing on cultural heritage protection and sustainable urban development.

Jinan's combination of regional spring water with the urban water system reflects the city's strength in sustainable development and water management.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Jinan Daily Group, Jinan Radio and Television Station, Jinan Culture and Tourism Development Group and World's Best Spring Scenic Area Service Center.
