Lotus flowers in Jinan, eastern Shandong province, have entered their annual flowering time in June.

Daming Lake, Baihua Park, Jinan Botanical Garden and Spring City Park in the city offer locals good places to enjoy the picturesque views in the middle summer.

The lotus flower, a constant theme in ancient Chinese poetry, symbolizes beauty and purity and it is also the city flower of Jinan.
